Ringstewarding experience :
5/11/86 took the Ring steward course arranged by the Danish Kennel Club (under
the FCI rules).
This was a 3 day course going through all the FCI rules and regulations- plus emphasis on dealing with judges
from all around the world.
Between January 1987 and 1989, I stewarded approx. 20-25 International Championship shows both for the
Danish Kennel Club but also for the Danish Terrier Club (FCI). (All breeds-though tried to do mostly terriers).
Ring Stewarding on the continent consists of writing all the critiques for the judges and being in very close
proximity to the judge. As I was one of the only people who spoke fluent German, Danish, English I was used at
most shows in the area I lived.
When I relocated to England in 1989 I stewarded a number of shows before coming to Northern Ireland in
1992. I cannot remember which ones- but I do remember stewarding at the Dudley and District Canine Show
24/8/91 and also Evesham and District Canine Society 21/7/91. As it was not a requirement then, to have done
stewarding I didn’t keep notes on when or where.
17th September 2002 To re-familiarise myself completely with UK Kennel Club rules (due to changing
requirements for judges) I attended a Stewarding Seminar arranged by the Belfast Dog Show Society in
Belfast.
I have since then Stewarded at
Belfast Championship show September 2002,3,4,5,&6 several rings/judges
